….and the ‘Slow Whirlwind’ suddenly picked up speed…
If you read that report, you may note that I had a deputation service scheduled for Nov 17, 2013. By a hair and a prayer, things came together. Marshall got shanghai’ed into playing the piano (and did well, I might add), I presented my story, and lunch was both bountiful and delicious.
Being what it was, I also presented the list of reasons I find myself in need of donated funds…one of which is the need to be nearer to the Silent Blessings office in Anderson, IN. At that moment, because God seems to like doing things that way, a husband & wife looked at one another and in unison said one word: “Dad”. By bedtime that night, it was settled – I would be moving to a small town about 30 miles away from the office. The elderly gentleman I now refer fondly to as “Mr. B” is my new landlord, cook, and companion. But, that takes us forward into 2014, which is the next article.
Changing locations of course entailed resigning the job, which resolved the concerns mentioned in the ‘Slow Whirlwind’ report. I visited my clients a few months later, and they seem to be coping just fine. Not unexpected, but a relief all the same.
In mid-December, I bade farewell to the family that hosted me for a year and went to Ohio to spend Christmas and New Year with my family. Then in January, I moved back to Indiana with a man and his cat…
