Here’s a brain bender for ya!

So…I’m cruising down the road…listening to a preacher tell how Jesus made Himself nothing…. and imagined a meeting among the trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) about the beloved humans and the sin solution…. God negotiating with Himself the price He must pay and the fact that He’s willing to do so…

– as a human, you’ll initially forget all that we’ve known & discussed here, you’ll have to study the writings to remember….. Agreed

– we must keep in touch, both for your strength and as an example to them…… Of Course

– there will be a time when we must be completely divided, as you take all their sin unto yourself…. Agreed

The timing was carefully arranged, and the Holy Spirit took notes, the most important of which were forwarded on to earth. God, as the Son, agreed to pay the highest price a deity could offer, that of becoming one of His creations – then, He agreed to pay the highest price a human could offer, that of His own blood and humiliation…. then, and only then, would He be restored to His rightful place of glory and honor in the GodHead.

At the end of the negotiations, they turned the contract back a few pages, and earth’s sky went black as God Himself dipped His finger in His own blood at the foot of the cross, and signed – It Is Finished!

What we hold as the Bible has rightly been called a love letter to us, though there are things in it that a love letter would not contain. Today, it struck me, this document is the Contract that God the Holy Spirit wrote down, the price and terms that God the Son agreed to pay, and God the Father agreed to accept, that a sinner like me might spend eternity with Him in all His Holiness.
