Nothing like an end-to-end day to up the ante on stress, although it wasn’t the most stressful of days in recent memory.
A schedule adjustment led to an early walk, then a meeting, then another walk with another companion at the originally scheduled time. Notes on the walks are out of reach at the moment. God, however, is never out of reach. That knowledge alone is the best stress-buster around.
On the walk, my internal soundtrack included:
- My God is So Big (so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do)
- He Never Has Failed Me Yet (I’ve proven Him true; what He says, He will do; He Never Has Failed Me Yet)
- He’s Been Faithful (faithful to me; looking back, His love and mercy I see)
Ephesians 6:12-19 (King James Version)
12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Exodus 14:13-14 (King James Version)
13And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
