Make that, the first full week. We started last Thursday, and since then I’ve been focused on staying afloat. Those who know me know there’s a health issue to deal with, and I’m having a rather fragile time of it at the moment. Not to worry, God’s plans never fail, even when we fail miserably. He’s not done, therefore I’m not done.
It turns out I’ve signed up for three intensive research courses, and one intensive interpreting course. The intensity of the interpreting, I knew about – it is, after all, a question of working successfully in two languages at the same time, one being still rather foreign to me.
Entrepreneurship is research & writing, due twice weekly, on a progressive list of topics until a feasibility study and business plan are produced. Each paper requires resource information rather than simple head-blather, opinion, and guesswork.
New Religious Movements requires a full blown research paper, as well as weekly critiques of assigned reading, these to be 3-4 pages in length, each.
Regional Geography: Latin America involves becoming an expert on 3 countries and building a portfolio of information. My selected countries are Martinique, Honduras, and Spanish-speaking USA, with an emphasis on Deaf people in each. This is in addition to reading & responding to 6 texts and any assignments to be announced later.
On the surface, I’m fascinated by each of these – as I look at the clock (with whom I have a hate-hate relationship), my enthusiasm wanes quickly. Right now, I’m fighting with the health issue and praying to remain stable enough to accomplish the requirements for this week. I need to get through today and tomorrow, accomplish and deliver the assignments tomorrow, then I’ll have Friday through Monday to get a handle on the rest.
Those of you who are praying for me, and I thank you so much for that, can take this list to the Lord (as if He doesn’t know already). No matter what, He’s in charge, and His plans don’t fail.
