Would you like to know where week 5 went?? So would I!
I remember spending chunks of time trying to track down information on the feasibility of a multi-faceted one-woman business on a part time schedule and no budget. I remember getting very discouraged with the results. I remember walking back & forth between the computer and the kitchen, trying to find something that didn’t require pots, pans, significant time, or core ingredients not in my cupboards. (tonight, it was a chicken & broccoli rice side with chunks of chicken breast added after-the-fact – I have now added 2 pans, a dish, 2 spoons, a fork, and a knife to the sink’s contents)
I remember, vividly, learning that my brilliant “use my site for your Christmas shopping, and I’ll get commissions” plan is simply not going to work under the current arrangement. So, I shopped around for another arrangement, and selecting the cheaper of the options ended up with the most maddening choice. It’s not that the resources were bad, it’s just that they’re not set up for a database geek who neither knows nor cares about the intricacies of FTP. I’m all about data and scripting, for everything else, I just want a tool that works when I reach for it. The good news is, after I whined to my net-geek friend, I got a refund and he’ll be a sport & help me with a more effective solution. I still don’t have a solid figure on what the anticipated profits are, apparently that’s an individualized number between $0 and $80k annually, weighted more on the left end of the range.
The Feasibility Study, due Tuesday, is about as done as it will get. Entrepreneurship isn’t one of my spiritual gifts. Next, I play catch up with the reviews of books and films recently seen for the Geography class, a critical analysis of gender and violence issues in New World Religions, an exploration of 3 countries and one belief system, and, of course, Interpreting Practice (after all, that’s the whole point of the rest).
Health is fine. Apartment is embarrassing, seasonal clothes are mingling, dust bunnies are thriving, but there’s still a clear path from bed to pot to ‘fridge & front door, so I’m sure I’ll make it for one more week.
